The diving in Komodo Marine Park is great! There are lots of small and large creatures on reefs with beautiful hard and soft corals. The coral reefs are very healthy, the epitome of the Coral Sea. There are many small colorful fish that live in coral. Huge schools of them hang above the coral then swoop down then up then down again in a graceful dance with perfect choreography. Clown fish swim in and out of their anemone homes, and nudibranchs, tiny shrimp and crabs live in and around the coral. The best way to travel and dive in Komodo is by live-aboard dive boat. And be sure to visit Rinca Island to see Komodo Dragons while you are there!
Underwater photography has been a passion since I took that first throw-away water proof camera in when snorkeling in Northern California. I loved SCUBA diving and the ocean so much I wanted to share the experience and photography allows me to do that. I hope you enjoy these favorites from my underwater image archives as much as I do. I will be adding more underwater galleries, including Papua New Guinea and images from my backyard; Monterey, California so be sure to use the links on the Home page to follow Divermaiden and be informed of updates!
